EXHIBITION "OBJECT-FUNCTION-QUALITY"
The exhibition gathers together objects used on a daily basis, hand-crafted objects as well as pre-industrial and proto-design objects, with particular reference to the quality of their detail. With the help of private collectors, it will be possible to explain the technological development of commonly-used objects which, over the course of time, have characterised their function.
These will appear alongside materials that combine craftsmanship with artistry. Items exhibited will include: rare nails made in forges in the Bergamo or Valle Imagna areas, sheets of bronze relief, art deco copper friezes, metal handles and trinkets that complete the range of artistic furnishings on show. In addition, measuring compasses for drawing that are amongst the world’s finest owing to their completeness and the beauty of the callipers, will be on show.
One special section will be dedicated to the production and finishing of commemorative medals between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, along with manuals used in the industrial sector.
EDUCATIONAL EXHIBITION
The collaboration with the Architecture Faculty of Florence University takes a tangible form in this exhibition, which will see the involvement of around sixty students from the course in Industrial Design taken by Prof. Alessandro Umbertazzi.
The theme will concern objects and their finishes, with particular reference to the choice of materials and their possible uses.
In this way, the students will have the opportunity to come face to face with the production world, thereby getting an early look at many of the subjects that will repeatedly crop up in the course of their future careers. (The products will be displayed with the aid of illustrative files).
